Fox Island, Olalla and the Key Peninsula run on wells. Scaled elements, narrowed fill valves, rust-stained drums — we meter them, replace them, and tell you plainly whether the softener is doing its job.

Phone or form, either way a dispatcher sends a two-hour window and a text the moment the truck rolls — from Harbor Country Drive, or off the bridge deck for Tacoma stops.

02 · METER

The fault gets a name

Clamp meter, thermometer, manometer where propane is involved. The failed component is identified and explained, and one figure goes on paper with the $99 built into it.

03 · PARTS

Usually on board

The truck carries what salt air, iron water and outages break: fill valves, defrost heaters, igniters, rollers, relays. Anything ordered comes back on our schedule, not your bill.

What the phone rings with.

Is the $99 on top of the repair or part of it?

Part of it. The technician meters the machine, tells you which component failed, and hands you a single figure for the job with the $99 already counted in. Choose not to repair and $99 is the whole visit, with the diagnosis yours to keep.

We are in Tacoma. Do we pay for the bridge?

You do not. The Narrows toll only runs eastbound, which is the direction the truck goes home, so it is our cost. A dishwasher in Proctor and a dishwasher on Harborview Drive are priced from the same card.

A refrigerator is warming up right now. How fast?

Ring before noon and a warm refrigerator usually gets the first opening that afternoon; everything else is booked inside the week, often for the next morning. Gig Harbor, Artondale, Fox Island and the West End are the shortest legs from the shop.

Cloudy glasses, a slow ice maker, orange stains in the washer — is that us or the water?

The water, nine times out of ten. Fox Island, Olalla, the Key Peninsula and most acreage on this side of the bridge draw from private wells carrying iron and hardness. Scale chokes a fill valve and crusts a dishwasher element; an empty softener announces itself in the dishwasher before anywhere else. We meter the part and say plainly what the well did.

The windstorm knocked the power out overnight and now the fridge is silent.

That is the most common call the morning after a PSE or Peninsula Light outage. A compressor that tried to restart against pressure trips its overload, a control board drops a relay, a garage GFCI opens. The diagnostic sorts out which, and most of them are a part, not a replacement.

What do you actually work on?

Six machines: the refrigerator and freezer, the washer, the dryer, the dishwasher, the oven-range-cooktop family, and the ice maker inside the refrigerator — across Whirlpool, GE, Samsung, LG, Maytag, Frigidaire, KitchenAid, Bosch, Electrolux, Kenmore and Speed Queen, and the Sub-Zero, Wolf, Thermador, Miele, Viking and Dacor built-ins. Outside the list: microwaves, wine coolers, standalone ice machines, softeners, restaurant gear.
